The Quins coming off an embarrassing loss to the Huns the previous week were keen to make amends. Defense was tight on both sides with the first score coming at the 15 minute period after sustained pressure inside the Blacks 22 saw David Keane go over for the score in the corner. Austin responded 6 minutes later after similar pressure inside the Quins 22 and some deft handling work saw them score out wide, The lead switched 6 times in the first half with the score tied at 13 at the break.

The Quins struck early in the second half with a great effort by the team to put scrum half Daron Liebenberg over for the go ahead try, conversion by Jeff Dull was good.The lead changed a further 3 times as each team fought for the 2 score lead. A late yellow brought the Quins down to 14 men which Austin capitalized on scoring two trys in the last 5 minutes to seal the win Trys
